Wedding
Lisa & Jamie Marry at Red Rocks
I absolutely loved shooting this wedding. The bride and groom traveled halfway across the world from Sydney, Australia, to marry each other at the Red Rocks Trading Post, which offered incredible views, as you will see for yourself. But the best views all day were those I witnessed while watching Lisa and Jamie as they exchanged vows, paid a visit to the downtown Tattered Cover (their favorite place), and then hosted a warm, relaxed reception at the Denver Art Museum. They knew exactly what they wanted on their wedding day, and I hope this tiny sampling of photos captures just a little of their joy.
Mandy & Orion Married in Dillon
Okay, this wedding should not have been so much FUN. First, the couple was married yesterday amid predictions of all kinds of terrible weather at Windy Point on Lake Dillon. Yes, it was windy. It was cold. And it rained (but only AFTER the ceremony). But no one cared about any of that. We Coloradans (and out of state guests) know how to dress for a June event in the mountains, and the bride led the way in her exquisite strapless gown (no space heater near her!) as she and Orion exchanged vows by the side of the lake. After gathering all the attendees together for a quick group portrait, we headed to the point to take a few shots of the bridal party. And just a few, as that is when the rain started, so we headed back and continued the celebration under the pavilion roof. It was unpredictable; it was perfect. Congratulations, Orion and Mandy!
Following are just a few of the bride and groom and wedding party. Enjoy!

I thought about stopping the bridal couple from dancing DURING the group portraits, but that’s no fun!
And last, but not least, we all celebrated the successful completion of Tayler’s treatment. The flower girl was beautiful, as was her dad’s speech to her and the wedding couple.
Heather & Keith Get Married!
What an honor it is to shoot a wedding. And Heather and Keith’s was special for many diverse reasons, not least of which I had taught Heather when she was a delightful honors level sophomore in one of my English classes. When she asked me to shoot her wedding to Keith, I was thrilled. If you look at just a few photos of last weekend’s wedding, you will see why this was so much fun. They were married at the Lady of Loreto Church in Centennial and held the reception at the Inverness Hotel in Englewood.
Once I’m done going through the hundreds of photos I haven’t yet edited, I am going to post some “family” themed photos. (Both sides of the family were so great to work with, that I feel they deserve their own post!) But I couldn’t wait to share these. Congratulations, Heather and Keith!
Before going to the church, I stopped by Mary Lou and Tim’s house to take a few snapshots of the bride.
Mary Lou and Tim have a favorite photo of Heather as a young girl. The next two photos use that photo as part of the story.
The bridal flowers added just the right accent for a fun photo.
Our Lady of Loreto Church in Centennial provided a beautiful setting for the wedding ceremony.
And Father John Paul opened up the balcony doors to let us take advantage of its spectacular facade after the ceremony.
And having a great zoom lens let me take advantage of a great photo op!
The reception at the Inverness also provided some interesting possibilities, although the golf course itself ended up off limits!
And, despite high winds that blew down branches on the tree behind them, the wedding party was willing to have some fun with pictures. Of course, we have several of the “formal” shots in the church and at the reception, but these were much more fun.
One last shot of the couple during their first dance!
Tiffany & James in Keystone
It had rained for weeks before August 15. Heck, it has rained all summer, especially in the afternoons. Especially in the mountains. But on August 15, the sun shone (after an earlier rain) and the bride and groom glowed in that late afternoon sunshine. Or maybe they just glowed because they are so very clearly in love. Either way, my assistant Patti and I had a great time capturing the joy of the couple (especially James’ face when he caught his first glimpse of Tiffany) and the celebratory feeling of the rest of the day.

Julie & Chris Denver Wedding
I love shooting weddings; each event holds its own special memories for not only the bride and groom, but for me as a photographer. And I will remember Julie and Chris’s wedding for two very important, but different reasons. The first is that Julie was so willing to play in her photos that I didn’t even hesitate before asking her to climb into the master suite’s oversized bathtub for some pre-wedding photos (with and without daughter Taylor). The second reason was the way the two of them kept looking at each other. In fact, I probably have more photos with one or the other sneaking delighted peaks than photos of them looking at me! (Which is as it should be.) Following is just a tiny sample of the bride and groom on their special day. And a chance to thank you, Chris, for your service to our country.

Dancing with the Stars has nothing on this couple!

Congratulations!

Kelly & Mike Denver Wedding
With each wedding I shoot, I grow more in awe of the tremendous opportunity afforded me to witness the love and commitment couples show toward each other. This was especially true with Kelly and Mike’s April wedding. Snow had been predicted, lots and lots of snow. Instead we got bitter cold and wind and an outpouring of laughter and joy and just plain fun. Kelly and Mike were the perfect bride and groom—incredibly beautiful to photograph, willing to try different poses, and surrounded by families and friends that made the entire experience unforgettable. In fact, Kelly was so prepared she had snow boots and umbrellas all ready for the bridal party!
Following are just a few of my favorite pictures from their special day.
